Recycling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Spectra Precision is pleased to announce a new Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling program for our European Union customers.
At Spectra Precision, we recognize the importance of minimizing the environmental impacts of our products. We endeavor to meet your needs, not only when you purchase and use our products, but also when you are ready to dispose of them. That is why Spectra Precision is actively pursuing, and will continue to pursue, the expanded use of environmentally friendly materials in all its products, and why we have established a convenient and environmentally friendly recycling program.
Locations for recycling Spectra Precision products are listed below. As Spectra Precision makes additional recycling facilities available for your use, we will post their locations and contact information.
Restriction of Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)
The European Union has defined a group of six compounds as restricted hazardous substances under its RoHS Directive. They are: mercury, cadmium, lead, chromium VI, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). Spectra Precision is currently redesigning its products to remove these materials where they exist, and is actively working to abide by the new EU restrictions. Therefore, as of July 1, 2006, Spectra Precision will no longer sell products in Europe that do not meet the requirements imposed by the RoHS Directive. Further, Trimble is working toward applying these same standards to all of its products wherever Spectra Precision sells or distributes them.
